What Is Synthetic Ice:
The KwikRink Synthetic Ice provides skaters about 95% of the speed of a natural ice surface. It can be installed virtually anywhere, in any climate and temperature.
When Is The Rink Being Constructed:
Installation will take place on Sunday, January 28 starting at 8 a.m.
Where Is The Synthetic Ice Rink Being Constructed:
At U.S. Bank Stadium at the Medtronic Plaza, right outside of the Legacy gates. The rink will be intertwined with the Medtronic “horn” sculpture.
Why Is The Rink Being Constructed:
Minnesota is proud of it’s skating heritage, with more than 200 indoor ice facilities and thousands of natural ice rinks at parks and frozen ponds that are used all winter for ice sports. The KwikRink Synthetic Ice will capture the spirit of this history and feature skaters on the surface only for ticket holders to enjoy, only on February 4 from noon until game time.
